Adults and 6c/Km for students.

Sunday 2nd October Ohakune Coach Road.
Will be joining up with the Wanganui Tramping Club to do
this easy walk. The plan is to walk from Horopito to the
Hapuwhenua Viaduct and return. (16Km walk) If members
want to do the walk one way we can use our cars to drop
members off at one end. (12Km walk) The walk is on a well
formed cycle trail with information boards on the way giving
the local history. Transport costs $12-00 return trip from
Horopito or
$16-00 if we do the walk one way.
Saturday 8th October Marton Sash and Doors
Tramway.
It is intended we explore the total 15Km loop walk for this
day trip. The trail starts at National Park café with
promise of a great variety with native bush, old tramway,
some dirt roads, some pine forest at Erua and Waikune and a
section of old railway line. Hopefully we’ll finish with a
nice coffee at the café where we started. On a good day
there are great mountain views. Will be joining up with
the Wanganui Tramping Club. Transport cost $10-00.
Sunday 16th October Te Peka Reserve.
An afternoon walk around the Te Peka Tracks with the idea of
clearing any overhanging vegetation and obstacles on our
way. Take a pair of Secateurs, gardening gloves or hedge
clippers. Take some afternoon tea. Meet at the Te Peka
lookout at 1pm.
Saturday 29th October
Lake Rotopounamu (5Km walk)
An easy family walk. Transport cost $12-00. For bookings

Saturday 5th November
Mangatepopo Valley Tongariro National Park. There are
several options for this trip. The Soda Springs. Ngauruhoe
Saddle. Pukekaikiore saddle. Transport cost
$14-00.
Sunday 6th November A leisurely walk around
Te Peka Reserve.
We will be hosting the Owhango Alive conservation group.
Could Tramping Club members bring a plate for afternoon tea?
Meet at the Te Peka Lookout at 1pm.
Saturday 12th November
Tramp to the Mangaturuturu Hut and Lake Surprise in the
Tongariro National Park. .
The track begins at the 15 kilometre point on the Ohakune
Mountain Road, and descends into the Makotuku Valley. It
crosses over a lava ridge covered in alpine herbs and then
descends into the expansive Mangaturuturu Valley via the
Cascades, where a mountain stream tumbles over a spectacular
rock fall. The rocks are coated with a creamy-coloured
silica deposit left behind by the fast flowing stream. At
the Mangatepopo Hut members can carry on to Lake Surprise
for our lunch stop. There are 3 shallow stream crossings on
the trip. Transport cost $18-00.

Cycle trip around the Ngapuke circuit
Saturday 26th November
Bush and farm walk from the Opotiki Road area to Matiere
Road and Hut The loop walk follows farm tracks down
to the bottom of a valley. There are excellent views and
easy bush walking. Returning to the start is more
challenging. We follow a steep farm track that zig zags back
up to the top of the valley. Transport cost $4-00..
Friday evening 2nd December and Saturday 3rd
December.
Marshalls are required to help out with the GOAT
run on the around the mountain track off the Turoa Mountain
Road. Travelling on Friday evening and returning
Saturday evening. Food and accommodation is supplied free of
charge. On Friday evening there is a safety briefing. After
the GOAT event on Saturday we get a free BBQ dinner at the
Powderhorn restaurant then return home. Bookings required
by Wednesday 2nd November.
Saturday 10th December
Climb to Mt Tihia near Turangi followed by our Xmas
BBQ with Wanganui Tramping Club at the Manunui Motor Camp.
